Horses Heal has been presenting educational
programs with horses since 2002. Horses are a huge visual for children and really get their attention. We offer field trips
to our facility at Anaheim Equestrian Center/Rancho del Rio Stables or we can bring our horses to you. All we need is a small,
grassy area or even a parking lot to bring one to two horses. Your students will play a fun game to learn some parts of the horse
and then they’ll get to groom the horse(s). We also have an optional inter-active riding demonstration (grass or dirt
area required). Although this
program is fun and entertaining, it is not about the horses. Outcomes to be gained from the activity are to: - Learn about the character trait “Caring”
- Learn to care for another living being, build empathy
- Learn about how important it is to engage in personal hygiene/grooming of oneself
- Engage in quiet activity that requires concentration,
care, and safety
- Learn to
work cooperatively as a group
- Learn respect for horses and treat them
respectfully/kindly

Prior to the field trip, you will
receive a packet for teachers containing a description of what to expect, coloring pages, a vocabulary sheet and more. At
the end of the program, students receive a sticker-badge proclaiming they learned about caring for themselves, others and
animals. Our field trip fee
is $10 per student with a $300 minimum. Ideal group size is 15-20 and we can do multiple presentations in one day.
